The city of Tyler Texas has quite a few fun places to see and check out. You can find places, attractions, and things to enjoy and have fun with kids, family, and adults below. Among the many attractions, Tyler has a two water parks, a kids splash park for the summer time. During the winter Tyler has many indoor activities like the UT Cowan Center’s plays, and nationally known speakers. These suggestions are only the tip of the iceberg. This public park, once the largest Confederate Prisoner of War Camp west of the Mississippi River during the American Civil War, offers many enjoyable features.  Managed by the Smith County Historical Society, Camp Ford offers a walking trail with interpretive signage, a kiosk displaying detailed graphics of the history of the camp, along with a reconstruction of a POW cabin.  Picnic facilities are also available and admission is FREE, but donations are welcome.  Open dawn to dusk every day.
